VILLAIN EDIT
Villain Edit

Accessibility

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Villain Edit is mostly text, with talking confessionals on top. Here is exactly what the game supports and where it stops, so you can decide before you download.

Captions

Every one of the 126 video confessionals has its line captioned on screen while it plays. Captions are on by default; you can change that in Settings → Captions. Turn off Play talking confessionals and each confessional appears as a text card with the speaker’s name and line instead. Apart from the confessionals, nobody in the game speaks out loud. Story text, choices and outcomes are written on screen, and the rest of the audio is music and interface sound.

VoiceOver

Choices, switches and buttons carry labels and roles. A choice reads its tag in words, then its text, and says when it is locked and why. The meters are read out by name and value, and the board that explains them reads each meter with what it means. The program monitor reads the scene’s slate. Settings and the meter board hold focus while they are open. A confessional can be skipped with a double tap.

Larger Text

The game follows the iOS text size. Story text and choices grow up to 160 percent. The control room’s fixed chrome, such as meter labels and slates, grows to a smaller multiple so it stays inside its frame, and key art like posters does not scale. On top of that, Settings → Story text size offers Normal, Large and Larger.

Reduce Motion

Turn it on and the game holds still. Push-ins, slides, flips and flashes are skipped, and the settings sheet appears instead of sliding up. The confessionals themselves still play as video; you can turn them off as described above.

Press and hold to commit

Choices are committed with a press and hold by default, so a stray tap never decides anything. If holding is hard, turn off Settings → Press and hold to commit: tap a card once to select it and again to commit. With VoiceOver on, a double tap commits a choice in either mode.

Color and contrast

No choice is carried by color alone. Every tag is written in words, such as PUSH, PLANT or OFF THE RECORD, and meters are named and numbered. Each era’s palette has text-safe variants of its accent colors, chosen to meet a 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio against their backgrounds.

Dark interface

The control room is dark in every era, by design, and story text sits on light paper. There is no separate light mode, and changing iOS’s appearance setting will not change it.

Sound, music and haptics

Each can be turned off independently in Settings. With captions on, the game is fully playable in silence.

Something not working

If an accessibility feature does not behave the way this page describes, that is a bug and we want to hear about it. Write to [email protected] and say which feature and which screen.
