[email protected]Restore a purchase
New device, or reinstalled the app? Open Settings → Restore Purchases, or tap Restore purchases on the season shelf. Riptide and Sight Unseen come back on any device signed in to the same Apple Account, at no extra charge. If you bought both seasons together, restoring brings back both.
Captions and text size
- Captions are on by default. Every talking confessional shows its line on screen while it plays. Turn them off or on in Settings → Captions.
- Make the story bigger in Settings → Story text size: Normal, Large or Larger.
- The game also follows the text size you set for iOS in Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text.
- You can open Settings in the middle of a scene with the three-fader button in the control room. The scene waits.
A confessional won’t play
- Confessionals are part of the app, so they play without an internet connection.
- Check that Settings → Play talking confessionals is on. With it off, confessionals show as text.
- Confessionals play with the silent switch on. If you see the picture but hear nothing, turn up the volume.
- If a clip can’t play on your device, the game shows the line as a text card, so you never miss what was said. If that keeps happening, email us your device model and iOS version.
Manage your progress
- Progress saves automatically, one saved season per show. Closing the app mid-episode is safe; you’ll pick up where you left off.
- To wipe your career record, open the career screen and choose Reset career. It clears every season, ending and stat on file. Saved seasons and purchases are kept. This cannot be undone.
Sound, music & haptics
Toggle each one in Settings. They’re separate, so you can keep haptics on with the music off, and so on.
Holding to commit
By default you press and hold a choice to commit it, so nothing gets decided by a stray tap. To tap instead, turn off Settings → Press and hold to commit: tap a card once to select it and again to commit. With VoiceOver, a double tap commits in either mode.
Devices
Villain Edit runs on iPhone and iPad. If something looks off on your device, include your model and iOS version in your email and we’ll take a look.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We’re happy to help troubleshoot anything on the game’s side.
